The theatre on Goetheplatz is the largest stage in Bremen comprising 900 seats. The programme includes opera, operetta, musicals, plays and dance performances.
The classical layout of the auditorium, enclosed by the strictly U-shaped foyer, receives new meaning through the architects’ design.
The new entrance on the east facade leads into a generous hall. Box office and cloakroom are located here, and direct access to the foyer of the dress circle. The back walls of the box office and cloakroom areas receive direct light harmonizing with the architecture.
Two types of light sources complement one another: indirect soft light from alcoves, ceilings and projecting walls and direct light from recessed downlights. The only object lighting is in the auditorium: it is chandelier illuminated.
