The lighting design by Ulrike Brandi Licht in cooperation with the Detmold design team reveals an attractive space. Only a few lighting principles create an interesting “lighting narrative” and provide a pleasant and captivating atmosphere at the VitaSol Therme. Light structures the large hall into areas of different moods and underscores their diverse uses. They include bright activity areas as well as peaceful retreats.
The architect’s careful use of materials and colours makes the spa a special place which can be experienced with the help of the lighting concept.
An inhospitable large hall without any features to focus on was turned into a structured space that is both generous and nuanced at the same time.
