Three visitors looking at the light installation: a box whose faces glow in blue, pink and yellow

Light Lab Licht 2026

Event organised by DiGidot and IALD in Berlin, October 29, 2026

Our task at Light Lab Licht 2026 was to create a light installation using a DiGidot tool to represent our office, Ulrike Brandi Licht:

We are fascinated by the starry sky. We begin by looking at our galaxy.

We journey through our solar system; at its centre shines the Sun, our most important source of light.

We head for the third planet orbiting the Sun: Earth, with its Moon.

From a bird’s-eye view, we can make out a city situated on two rivers – our city: Hamburg.

Our office is in the Speicherstadt, with the water stretching out before us.

Every lunch break, we walk out there and watch the ducks and seagulls.

The ducks are learning to swim and venture further and further out, all the way to the Elbphilharmonie.

The sky looks different every day; the sunset doesn’t colour it every evening. But it does today.

The night sky in the city never gets quite as dark as we’d like it to. But we’re doing something about it.
